We developed an application called “Fish Tales – A Social Network for Serious Anglers” for Tim Purnell. Here’s the client’s description of the application:
We have all heard the tales of the “one that got away” and have enjoyed the fishing tales (embellished or otherwise).
Well, here is your chance to track your fishing triumphs and tales from year to year and catch to catch. Fish Tales is a social media network application for people who fish, ranging from beginners to advanced.
The application utilizes the Walmart UPC bar code information to scan lures. Once scanned into the application, the lure can be added to the user’s “Tackle Box.”
Users can log and track their own catches by creating a “My Tale” that tags the dates and time, location (latitude and longitude), anecdotal notes, lure that was used, size, and a photo of the catch. A user has the option to store the information locally or share it with other users.
Users have access to see “Other’s Tales” and can even follow users by adding them to “My Boat.”
The application also allows users to access the local weather and tidal information (depending on the location).
Happy fishing and we look forward to hearing your tales!
